Susan was born in Orillia, Ontario but spent most of her life in scenic Niagara.

Painting became a hobby after the birth of the first of her four children. Night school classes and many workshops led her to study at Mary Schneider’s School of Fine Arts in Actinolite. Under the guidance of Vinnie Vabalis and Guttorn Otto, it was soon realized that she had a passion for the arts. Classes at Gallery on the Lake Buckhorn with the instruction of Mary Lampman have enforced the bold colour of the oil paint and texture of the palette knife. Susan has recently diversified into the area of water colours with a flowing brush and vivid colours.

Her goal when transferring nature to canvas is to leave an impression with the observer. This can be the stirring of a memory or an avenue to explore in their imagination.

Susan’s paintings hang in many homes and businesses across Canada and West Germany.
